About Us

“You see persons and things not as they are but as you are.”

ANTHONY DE MELLO

The de Mello Institute

The de Mello Institute is founded on the principle that personal transformation is the reliable and lasting basis of happiness and success. It also believes that personal change of people in systems is the only reliable and way to lasting transformation in companies and organizations.

We believe that organisations are as good as their leaders. Following an inside out approach, we help leaders to make rapid changes through an outcome focused and reliable approach that combines the integration of the best of psychology and Awareness/Mindfulness.

Based on extensive international experience over several decades, starting from the time of Anthony de Mello, the best known teacher of Awareness, we believe that individuals and organizations achieve remarkable success through a heart-centred approach.

Our vision is to profoundly impact the way people experience personal and work life and achieve their own greatest goals. Miracles of performance happen through of transformation.

Legacy of Anthony de Mello

Anthony de Mello (1931-1987) is known worldwide as an extraordinary teacher of Awareness. What may be less known to his international audience is what a brilliant psychotherapist he was, too. There are a large number of people who would attribute significant and even life-saving changes that enabled them to find happiness and peace in life because of de Mello. Many organizations have made profound changes by adopting his approach.

After Tony’s death in New York on a lecture tour, Dr Francis succeeded him as the Director of the Sadhana Institute of Psychology and Spirituality which he had founded in India and continued his vision and mission for the next 14 years. It is the same legacy that we continue, albeit in a different way, at the de Mello Institute.

The Legacy

What accounted for the profound changes in people was his ability to combine the skills of psychotherapy with the power of Awareness or mindfulness.

Continuing his legacy and following the same approach to human suffering and transformation, the De Mello Institute offers psychotherapy, learning experiences and growth opportunities for individuals and organizations for a variety of problems and life issues.

We offer a number of programmes and services that, through insight, understanding and skilful interventions help resolve the difficulties and problems you encounter.
